Marcia Salas was born in San José, Costa Rica. She studied Painting and Etching in the "Universidad de Costa Rica." She has put together 16 individual art exhibitions and 65 collectives; the majority of which were in her birth country. Other destinations for her exhibitions have included Honduras, Germany, Italy, and Japan. Her work is part of private collections in the U.S.A., Mexico, Central America, Switzerland, the Netherlands, England, Germany and Spain. She has received 9 prizes given at the national level, and 3 international. Some of them include: -National Prize, Aquileo J. Echeverría, Plastiques Arts -Etching: First place "Certamen Universitario", "Universidad de Costa Rica -Segnalato, "Pantagruel Exibris" -Centro de Cultura y Tradiciones de los Alpes Occidentales, Provincia de Cuneo, Italy -Prize, International Postage Stamp -"Design Contest" Ministerio de Correo y telecomunicaciones: Tokio, Japan She also participated in studies in etching in big format of the Xilograph technique, given by the Master Miguel Villarino, National Prize of Etching in Spain.
